CARVED BY A LIFETIME OF HARD WORK

Over 80 years in the making, today’s robust, reliable Rokbak haulers can be traced all the way back to 1934 – and the world’s first off-road dump truck. This pioneering machine was a heavy-hauling powerhouse – forging a path for the ground-breaking haulers that followed.

We’ve come a long way…

1909

George A. Armington founds the Euclid Crane and Hoist Company in Cleveland, Ohio.

1924

Euclid develop the first scraper – the Euclid Automatic Rotary Scraper.

1931

The Euclid Road Machinery Company is founded.

1934

Euclid build the world’s first off-road dump truck – the Model 1Z.

1950

Euclid Great Britain is set up in Motherwell, Scotland, to begin development and manufacture of off-road trucks.

1953

The Euclid Road Machinery Company is bought by General Motors.

1954

The 1000th truck is built in Scotland.

1968

The earth-moving division is renamed Terex - from the Latin ‘Terra’ (earth) & ‘rex’ (king). The 33 Series trucks are launched.

1974

Terex develops new products including the Terex Titan and the world-beating R17.

1982

Designed, tested and manufactured in Motherwell, the first Terex articulated dump truck is launched – the 3204.

1987

Terex becomes independent from General Motors.

1992

Terex is bought by North West Engineering and the Terex Corporation is formed.

1998

The TA and TR ranges are launched and Terex trucks change from green to white.

2002

The Generation 7 articulated trucks are launched.

2005

The 1,000th Generation 7 Platinum truck rolls off the line.

2009

The upgraded Generation 7 range of articulated trucks is unveiled.

2011

Now fitted with world class Scania engines, the 9th generation of articulated dump truck is launched around the world.

2014

The Volvo Group buys the off-road truck product line from Terex Trucks, and a division of Volvo Construction Equipment, is formed.

2015

Terex Trucks launches its Generation 10 articulated trucks in two sizes – the TA300 and TA400 with advanced telematics. These are the first products developed under Volvo ownership.

2021

After six years of craft and graft – and over £35m of investment from the Volvo Group – we’ve refined, improved and relaunched as Rokbak – the home of the rock-solid articulated hauler.
