As the year draws to a close, let’s take a look bak’ at another fantastic year filled with our haulers tackling the tough terrain across the globe.
Job story after job story
2023 has without a doubt been the year we’ve witnessed our haulers take on job after job. As soon as each hauler rolls out of our factory doors they are shipped off to our dealers where they are then sent straight to work with customers around the world. There’s never a Rokbak not hard at work! From down under in Australia to rural areas of Indonesia to around the corner from our Motherwell factory in Scotland, our haulers have proved vital to any project they have been part of.
“It’s been fantastic. It out-performs its competitors with its drivability. The fuel burn in particular has been very impressive – it’s half of some of its competitors” says DSA Contracting CEO Daniel Aplin.
In 2023 we’ve seen both our RA30 and RA40 drive up productivity on a variety of job sites. With operators, managers and owners highlighting their performance and reliability, with some even opting for our haulers over others in the market.
Rokin’ around the world
In case you’ve been living under a rock (no pun intended) for the past year, and didn’t know about the significance of the articulated hauler market stateside, let’s take a look at a few highlights. With the majority of haulers leaving our factory heading for the US it’s no wonder that our market share has improved by 55% in the last three years. We kicked off this year in Chicago at AED where we strengthened our relationships and built new connections, with many companies lining up to be part of the Rokbak network. Not long after, we headed to the bright lights of Las Vegas for CONEXPO where both our haulers were showcased for the very FIRST TIME at a North American trade show! The success of our presence at this show is still being seen today as the awareness of the Rokbak brand in the US and worldwide continues to strengthen.
This huge demand for our Rokbak haulers is not just in the US, our machines have also been increasingly sought after at the other side of the world in the APAC region, including Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. It’s been a great year for the region with meeting end-customers, visiting job sites and even seeing a 51% increase in the number of sales. Specifically, the Australian articulated hauler market is the fifth biggest in the world and the country consistently sees high demand, which Rokbak is making inroads within.
“Australia has a significant demand for dump trucks and the Rokbak brand is continuing to strengthen here, with more and more trucks out working for customers,” says Rokbak Regional Business Manager Lee Irving.
It’s not just hundreds of miles from our factory where our haulers are in demand, the EMEA region has seen a rise in new customers as they made up 40% of total sales in 2023. The EMEA region is home to several important territories including the UK, France and Germany with the UK articulated hauler market being ranked second, only being beat by the US. In fact, for the UK market, Q1 of 2023 was the biggest opening quarter for market volume in recent history! With increasing demand in France and Germany, we’re looking to strengthen our presence in these key regions by expanding operations and continuing to work closely with our dealers and customers.
Innovating into 2024
2023 has not only been the year of job sites, we’ve also prioritised future developments. This year alone we’ve introduced new technological advances with improved Haul Track telematics, modern component specifications and fuel economy to reduce customer operating costs. The Rokbak team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes on a variety of customer driven developments which we can expect to see in 2024.
