In 2025, the Rokbak headquarters proudly celebrates 75 years of manufacturing excellence at our Motherwell facility in Scotland — a site that has been the beating heart of our operations since 1950. Over the decades, the facility has evolved, supporting industry innovation, growing a passionate workforce, and proudly building some of the world’s toughest articulated haulers.

This milestone is more than just a number. It’s a tribute to the generations of people, progress, and performance that define the Rokbak brand.

From founding to forward-thinking

The site in Motherwell, Scotland, was originally established with a mission to design and build robust off-road machinery that could meet the growing demands of construction and mining worldwide.

Over the years, the facility has changed ownership and evolved through global industry shifts, but its purpose has remained rock-solid: to engineer powerful, reliable haulers that move more, last longer, and deliver real value to our customers.

A major turning point came in 2014, when the company was acquired by the Volvo Group. Since then, the Motherwell site has undergone continuous and strategic investment – from enhancing product quality and performance, to advancing sustainability in both manufacturing and operations.

This paved the way for a bold new chapter in 2021, following a major rebrand from Terex Trucks to Rokbak — a transformation that reflected both our evolution and our continued commitment to building reliable, hard-working haulers trusted across the globe.

A living legacy

The Motherwell site is home to a proud and dedicated team. From welders and engineers to purchasing and customer support teams, every person plays a vital role in delivering haulers that live up to the Rokbak name.

To celebrate our 75th anniversary, we held an internal celebration with our team and hosted a Doors Open Day for employees, friends and family. The event was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the people behind the machines and show our families where the magic happens. It was a fantastic day filled with pride, history, and a look at how far we’ve come.

Built in Scotland, shipped around the world

From the heart of Scotland to sites across the globe, Rokbak haulers are built for the world’s toughest jobs. Our RA30 and RA40 machines are trusted by operators from Ireland to Indonesia — and every unit starts its journey right here in Motherwell.

As we look to the future, Rokbak is continuing to invest in our people, products, and processes. After 75 years, we’re just getting started.
